Surgery part deux was a technical success. Erica and Danger came back from the O.R. just before noon. As for what happened and what’s next, the update from last surgery pretty much says it all. At this point we haven’t had the post-surgery ultrasound. We’ll have that later today and an echo tomorrow. At that point we’ll know a little more.
All of these surgeries are recorded on video. Through channels that I can’t really discuss, we’ve obtained an unauthorized bootleg, including footage of the doctors preparing. It’s really amazing what happens behind the scenes.

Hello Schultz family! My name is Jenny and I found your blog after doing some detective work from a message you sent to an organization I am involved with called Sisters by Heart. 🙂 My daughter is 2.5 years old and has HLHS. She has all three stages of the palliative care plan and is doing amazing. I know to avoid HLHS at all costs is your goal and as someone whose child is living with it, I don’t blame you one bit and am praying you can successfully do so but if it’s not the case, know that there is HOPE for kiddos with HLHS. I am completely enthralled with your blog and these in-utero surgeries (and your writing style- I love it. 🙂 ). We were not diagnosed until 31 weeks gestation so this wasn’t anything we were able to research or qualify for. Anyways, I wanted to drop you a line thanking you for your sweet comment on our website and let you know we are all keeping your in our thoughts and prayers for a successful take 2 from this surgery.
